Gladys L. Reed-Goodwater, age 61, of Cedar Rapids, IA, passed away Monday, November 13, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. She was born September 20, 1951 in Dodgeville, WI, the daughter of W. Glenn and Mabel G. (Gilbertson) Reed. Gladys graduated from Argyle High School in 1969. She grew up in Argyle and in the early 1970's she worked at Swiss Colony and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, WI. Gladys moved to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, IA, with her daughter a number of years ago.

She is survived by two children: Alex (Kim) Reed of Des Moines, IA, and Mary Jo (Ryan) Marsh of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; two brothers: Wally and James Reed both of Monroe; and one sister: Alice (Bennie) Stamm of rural Argyle. Gladys was preceded in death by her father: Glenn in 1976; and her mother: Mabel in 2010.

Gladys attended church regularly and was a past member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with grandchildren. Gladys enjoyed country music and was an avid gardener and nutritionist. She will always be remembered for her kind ways and wanting to help others.

A funeral service will be held Monday, November 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Road in Blanchardville, WI, with Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Cemetery in rural Blanchardville. A visitation will be held Monday, November 19, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at Yellowstone Lutheran Church.
