Jason R. Quintero, 41, Monticello, was found guilty on Thursday, after entering a no contest plea of felony receiving stolen property; he also had two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping dismissed. Quintero will serve 500 hours of community service within 26 months and if not completed, he will serve 100 days in jail. He will be on probation for 30 months and is ordered to undergo alcohol and other drug assessment classes. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Dec. 4, 2012. Court records indicate he knowingly concealed a stolen 14-carat gold diamond ring worth $14,000 at a residence in Monticello, and in doing so broke bond on a previous charge. He also broke bond by drinking alcohol. He owes a fine of $176.

Court records indicate he yelled, swore and threatened his live-in girlfriend over the telephone while highly intoxicated, violating his bond. He then went to where she was staying and attempted to vandalize her car. He fled prior to police arriving and was later found in his home hiding underneath a mattress. After his arrest, Quintero repeatedly slammed his head into the caging in the back of a squad car. During a police interview later, he began resisting and while officers attempted to subdue him, he slammed his head into a wall. He owes a fine of $352.

When police arrived Quintero was highly intoxicated and part of his bond from a previous case required that he stay sober. He was arrested and police found an orange pill bottle with .5 grams of marijuana on his person. He owes a fine of $352.
