DAKOTA - Charles A. Drye, 55, of Dakota, IL, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at his home following a short illness. Charles was born on November 24, 1953 in Monroe, WI. He was the son of Charles and Louise (Stietz) Drye. He was a graduate of Lena-Winslow High School in the class of 1971 and graduated from Western Illinois University in 1975 with a degree in accounting. Charles was employed by Kelly Springfield Tire Company in Freeport as a bead builder for many years. Charles hobbies included hunting and fishing and he enjoyed cooking and doing string art.

Charles is survived by his mother, Louise of Lena; five sisters: Donna (Steven) Jungen of Freeport, Cathy (Kevin) Ralston of Waterloo, IA, Cindy (Mike) Wells of Montgomery, IL, Marianne (Richard) Janicke of Lena, IL, Betty (Stephen) Lindstrom of Belvidere, IL; one brother, Jeffrey Drye and fiancée Mary, of Glendale Heights, IL; many nieces and nephews, Francine Macias of Peoria, AZ, Devon Rosenberger of Phoenix, AZ, Lucas Rosenberger of Freeport, IL, Kaitlin and Kyle Ralston of Waterloo, IA, Christopher and Hannah Wells of Montgomery, IL, Garrett Balbach of Lena, IL, and Kristin and Erica Lindstrom of Belvidere, IL.

His paternal and maternal grandparents and father, Charles H. Drye, preceded him in death.

Cremation rites were accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established in his name for the Monroe Hospice.
