On October 1:

● At 7:14 a.m., officers were called to a single vehicle vs mailbox accident with no reported injuries, in the 2800 block of County Highway DR. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Eduardo Barrios Gomez, 21, of Monroe, was traveling east on County Highway DR when the vehicle left the roadway, colliding with a mailbox, causing damage. The vehicle sustained functional damage. Barrios Gomez was arrested for bail jumping due to a violation of bail conditions from a prior case prohibiting operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Barrios Gomez was also cited for operating after revocation-criminal, hit and run to property adjacent to a highway, failure to notify law enforcement of an accident and operating without an ignition interlock device. Barrios Gomez was booked and later released after posting cash bail pending a court appearance.

On October 4:

● At 4:10 p.m., officers were called to a traffic accident with reported injuries in the 700 block of 8th Street. The investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Sara C. Matzke, 33, of Monroe, exited a business parking lot into westbound traffic in the 700 block of 8th Street, and as a result a westbound motorcycle, operated by Alexander A. Brey, 30, of Monroe, made an evasive maneuver and lost control. There was no damage reported to the Matzke vehicle. There was disabling damage to Brey’s vehicle and it was towed from the scene. Brey reported minor injuries. Matzke was cited for an improper right turn and released pending a court appearance.

On October 6:

● At 4:01 a.m., officers were called to a report of a hit and run accident in the 2700 block of 6th Street. An investigation indicated that a vehicle operated by Travis C. Edmunds, 22, of Portage, was traveling east on 6th Street and collided with a legally parked unattended vehicle. Edmunds left the scene, but was located a short time later. Both vehicles sustained disabling damages and were towed. Edmunds was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated-2nd offense, and also cited for hit and run to an unattended vehicle and texting while driving. Edmunds was booked and released to a responsible adult pending a court appearance.

● At 4:28 p.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 2700 block of 8th Avenue. The investigation led to the arrest of Jeffery K. Norton, 38, of Monroe, on a charge of disorderly conduct under Wisconsin’s Domestic Violence laws. Norton was also taken into custody on an apprehension request from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections-Probation & Parole for a probation violation and confined in the Green County Jail pending further proceedings.
