MONROE - A Browntown driver sustained minor injuries when he tried to pass a tractor Tuesday morning just northeast of Browntown, according to the Green County Sheriff's Office.
The accident was reported at 7:02 a.m. in the W8700 block of Wisconsin 11, near the intersection with the northbound segment of County M, Lt. Kari Phillips said.
Karl Boltz, 64, was driving a van eastbound behind a tractor pulling a chisel plow when he tried to pass it.
At the same time, the tractor began to turn into a field-access drive. The van collided with the tractor and rolled into a ditch, landing on its side.
Boltz was taken by Green County EMS to Monroe Clinic for treatment of his injuries. His van was severely damaged.
The driver of the tractor, Joseph Nickels, 46, Argyle, told deputies he had his turn signal on. He was uninjured. The tractor sustained moderate front-end damage.
Boltz was cited for passing in a no-passing zone and not having his van registered.
Browntown Fire and First Response were also paged to the accident scene.
