MONROE - Less than a week remains to vote for Green County's best burger.
The Green County Beef Producers are sponsoring the 2015 Best Burger in Green County contest. The contest began May 1 and concludes Friday.
To vote in the contest, pick up a voting post card from a participating business. Diners should keep their voting cards and take it each time they visit a participating establishment. They will receive a new stamp for each qualifying burger. They can mail it in for a chance to win a beef-related prize.
To qualify for the drawing, diners need to purchase designated burgers from at least five participating establishments. In order to be eligible for the grand prize drawing, they must try 15 qualifying burgers.
Prizes include a gas grill, summer grilling basket, beef bundles and a $25 gift card from participating establishments. Prizes will be awarded during the Green County Beef Producers Steak-Out at 7 p.m. Aug. 20 at the fairgrounds.
Prize sponsors are Koning Meats and Deli Catering, Hoesly's Meats, Wisconsin Beef Council, Grede Foundry and all participating establishments.
Judging should be based on: presentation and appearance, if the burger is cooked to the diner's satisfaction, and taste.
