Accident closes 104 near Brodhead

An accident that occurred around 8 a.m. this morning, March 31, will shut down Highway 104 near County A, the Green County Sheriff's Office said in a news alert.

The accident occurred north of Brodhead and a detour has been set up east on Wis. 11 to Highway 213, then north on 213 to Wis. 59 and then back to 104.

Authorities ask the public to avoid the area and find an alternate route until the roadway is reopened, which is expected to take up to five hours, or around 2 p.m.

The motor vehicle accident involved multiple injuries, with emergency personnel using CPR on one victim according to local emergency radio frequencies. Albany Fire/EMS, Brodhead EMS and Monroe 800 were among the emergency responders called to the scene.
