MONROE — The Green County Bar Association virtual “meet the candidates” forum for the four candidates seeking to become Green County’s Branch One Circuit Judge will be held at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 19. It will be live-streamed to the public on YouTube via the Green County Bar Association channel, and a recording will also be available for later public viewing on the channel. Four Green County attorneys are seeking to succeed Circuit Court Judge James Beer, who is retiring next year from the Branch One bench. They are Daniel Bartholf, Jane Bucher, Peter Kelly and Faun Phillipson. A primary election on Feb. 16 will narrow the field to two candidates who will face each other in the spring election on April 6. The newly-elected circuit judge for Branch One will take office on Aug. 1.

Circuit Judge Thomas Vale is seeking re-election to the Branch Two bench and is running unopposed.
