BRODHEAD - Brodhead's fifth annual Wildflower Art Festival, part of the Brodhead Chamber's annual Covered Bridge Days, is set for 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday in Veterans Park, next to the depot museum. The event is a fine art show featuring artists from three states displaying and selling their work. Media of all kinds, including painting, wood, glass, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, photography, graphics and garden art will be represented. There will be live music and homemade ice cream available in the park.
This year's show will feature the remaining work of the late Kae Taylor, a Madison batik and graphic artist who died from cancer on Aug. 8, 2014 at the age of 59. Her husband will offer a chance for customers to own a piece of her amazing artwork. Several of the fine artists in this show have been long-time exhibitors at many art shows and many also have their work displayed in art galleries.

The Wildflower Festival will feature a native plant tour in Putnam Park from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday called "Expect the Unexpected," which will highlight the native plantings on the bank of the Mill Race and explain the importance of native landscapes.
Covered Bridge Days, Brodhead's largest festival, is going on all weekend. For a list of activities, visit www.brodheadchamber.org.
