Program to explain aid, benefits for war-time vets

MONROE - The Green County Veterans Office, along with Aster Retirement Communities and Azura Memory Care, is hosting a program for war-time veterans from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 at the Aging and Disability Resource Centers auditorium, N3152 Wisconsin 81.The program is free to attend and will provide information about the VA pension and aid and attendance benefits for war-time veterans and their surviving spouses. Veterans may be eligible for a monthly income assistance that could help them afford an assisted living or retirement community. There will be a chance to ask questions once the presentation is complete with answers from Chris Beer, veteran benefit counselor, and Clayton Ruegsegger, county veterans service officer.
