DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical and Genealogy Society will hold its Annual Membership Meeting, with updates on activities and election of officers on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. in the Lower Level Meeting Room of the Museum at 525 Main St in Darlington. After the brief meeting, at 1:30 p.m., Dan O’Brien of the Darlington American Legion will present a program on the history of the legion.

In addition the Museum has a special display — the military uniforms collection of the Society. The uniforms have been donated by county residents and many have stories of the veterans that wore them. The display is upstairs which is easily reached by a powered stair lift for any with mobility issues. Refreshments will be served after the program.

All is free and open to the public. There is ample parking on the sides of the park and behind the Museum on Wells Street. Those who attend will be treated to the first news about the society’s plans for 2024.
