MONROE - In her first book, Diana Vance took her readers to Russia. In her new book, Vance takes the reader closer to home.

In "Lose Your Heart In New Glarus," Vance writes about a romance between a man from Switzerland and a widow who lives in New Glarus.

Johann, the Swiss man, is in a group of 75 singers from Switzerland who have been invited to New Glarus for a singing contest. New Glarus residents are putting up the singers in their homes.

A romantic twist enters through a mistaken identity in the name tags. Johann A. was tagged as Johanna. The New Glarus widow's name tag reads Sam, which is her nickname for Samantha. Samantha invites Johann to her home and soon after, a romantic relationship begins.

The book is available in Monroe at das Baumhaus, 1630 11th St., and Perks Coffee Cafe, 104 W. 8th St. Vance will be holding a book signing at Perks from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 14.
