FREEPORT - The Freeport/Stephenson County Visitors Center, 4596 US Route 20 east of Freeport, has taken flight with its new Sky-High Expo featuring the Mini Max 94JS, an airplane owned by Jon Staben of Freeport, which is on display through June 29 inside the Center.

In addition to the actual airplane, the Expo features a flight simulator, which both kids and adults can try, information about the building of the Mini-Max as well as another one of Staben's planes, the Cozy, plus information about Freeport's Albertus Airport, and about the Freeport Pilots Association Chapter 475. Chapter 475, in conjunction with the Experimental Aircraft Association, will hold a Young Eagles Rally on June 14 at Albertus Airport.

The Rally, designed to introduce youth to the thrill of flying, offers free flights over the city.
