County On-boarding a success

MONROE - More than 150 people attended the second annual Green County On-boarding program on Sept. 6 at the Monroe Clinic Garden Terrace Café.

The event, which was coordinated by Future Forward and area Chambers of Commerce, provided new employees with the opportunity to obtain information on local organizations, child care, schools, real estate, banks and activities of interest.

The purpose of the event was focused on retention of new employees who have recently relocated to the area. Large employers including Monroe Clinic, Colony Brands, Orchid International, Monroe Schools and many others encouraged their employees to attend.

"We are very pleased with the turnout for the event and strong support from area businesses in sending their new employees," said Monroe Chamber of Commerce Director Pam Christopher.

The Future Forward initiative kicked off in late 2007 with a speech and community discussion led by Rebecca Ryan of Madison's Next Generation Consulting. The organization has opportunities for community members to volunteer and assist with efforts focused on attracting, retaining, and engaging the next generation.
