A portion of the Clarno Townhouse School is shown behind the students from that school in this photo taken during the 1936-37 schoolyear, probably by their teacher Pauline Morton.
Miss Morton taught at this school the last five years before it closed in 1939. The students were then transferred to Enterprise or West Clarno School. This building still stands as a home at W6110 County B, just north of the Clarno Town Hall, which is often mistaken for one of the early rural schools of the county.
