BHS senior Perry receives commendation in National Merit Scholarship Program
BHS Senior

BELLEVILLE — Aidan Perry, a Belleville High School senior, recently received commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program.  Perry’s High Selection index score placed him among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2025 National Merit Program by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT).

Perry is one of 34,000 students nationwide to receive this commendation and has “shown exceptional academic promise” accordingd to the National Merit Scholarship Program.  He is honored to have received this certificate for outstanding performance on the PSAT in 2023.

In his senior year, Perry hopes to look for a college or university where he can pair his love for mathematics with another STEM science.

“I’m currently working on my college applications, so I was thrilled to see that I won an award from the PSAT I took in 2023; this should be very helpful for me in the coming months,” he said.

Perry was honored to receive the signed certificate from Belleville High School Principal Kyle Loshaw for his National Merit Scholarship program commendation.

“Aidan is an extremely gifted and hard working student,” Loshaw said. “This is a well deserved recognition. I am very excited to see what Aidan does in his future as he is going to be a great representation of what Belleville is all about.”

Perry is grateful for the academic encouragement he has received as a high school student. From his time as a junior working with his teacher, Erin Treder, on NASA’s ExMASS project, to his work in calculus with teacher Michael Cryderman, to the support from Principal Loshaw and Guidance Counselor Stephanie Way, they have all helped pave the way for him to excel in mathematics. Currently, Perry is taking Honors Calculus at UW-Madison as a special high school student.  It is an opportunity to experience mathematics on a college level to understand what he might want to focus on before he begins his college career.

Perry resides in Monroe and is the son of Marie Fritz Perry and the late Dr. James H. Perry, D.D.S.
