Additional blossom for Duane Garrison and Dave Geitzel. We met Duane and Dave through the Park & Rec and MAGS softball programs a couple years ago, and over the years we started attending more and more of the Monticello girls teams games. This year we got to know more of the girls and parents from Monticello. Everyone of the girls and parents we have met have been awesome, always nice and willing to talk. We had so much fun and attended so many games that we were invited to their season-ending softball party. We thought we might feel out of place, but we were accepted with open arms and had a great time. From junior league to high school, Duane and Dave have established a great sports program. Their families can be found working the concession stand and keeping the fields in shape. Congratulations Monticello on a great year and having two great guys running the show, from coaches to players to parents (fans) you have a softball program to be proud of. - Dale Howarth

I would like to give a huge blossom to the shop owners on The Square and to their employees who park their own cars in parking lots off the Square during business hours. If business owners are concerned about enough parking spaces on the Square, they should first police themselves. There are too many vanity plates on cars of people that work on the Square who have their own car in front of their business much of the day. I never see all the parking places full, but if there aren't enough ... maybe more should follow the example of the few and park in the lots off the Square. - A Monroe citizen
