MINERAL POINT — Five Monroe Mat Rats wrestled in the Mineral Point Youth Tourney on Feb. 3. 

Kaydon Proctor placed first; Grant Ula placed fourth; and Cole Meighan, Maverick Meighan, Colton Ladwig, and Gage Jelle all placed second in their respective brackets.

Elsewhere the same day, 13 Mat Rats wrestled at the Janesville Youth Tourney. It was a round robin tournament bracketed by grade and weight. 

In the kindergarten bracket, Gabrielle Harms (47-48 pounds) placed fourth. In the first and second grade bracket, Blaine Fletcher (47-49 pounds) placed second; Gage Ostby (49-52 pounds) placed first; Briggs Hoesly (50-54 pounds) placed second; Abram Homb (50-55 pounds) placed fifth; and Beau Hoesly (72-79 pounds) placed fourth. In the third and fourth grade bracket, Oliver Helland (66-72 pounds) placed fifth; Patrick Harms (75-78 pounds) placed third; and Althea Eckdhal (77-80 pounds) placed third. In the fifth and sixth grade bracket, Garrett Minder (73-80 pounds) placed third; Carson Menehan (82-90 pounds) placed second; and Connor Eckdhal (87-92 pounds) placed second. In the seventh and eighth grade bracket, Jack Dubach (103-112 pounds) placed second.
