ARGYLE - The Argyle girls basketball team held off Albany's fourth-quarter fally to win 53-44 on Thursday night for its second straight victory.

Argyle carried a 38-33 lead into the fourth quarter, but Albany scored the first five points to draw to within 38-36. That was as close as the Comets would get, as the Orioles made 9 of 10 free throws down the stretch.

"Our girls played hard," said Argyle coach Kurt Ritschard. "They stuck to the plan. It's always great to get back on track in the conference and get back-to-back wins."

Senior Danielle Treuthardt scored 13 points to lead Argyle (4-9, 2-4 Six Rivers East). Junior Kirstie Kauk scored 18 points for Albany (2-11, 0-6 Six Rivers East).

Barneveld 48, Pecatonica 24

BARNEVELD - Barneveld held the Vikings scoreless in the second quarter in Six Rivers East play.

Junior Emily Fargo scored seven points and junior Lizzy Britt added six points to lead Pecatonica (3-11, 1-5 Six Rivers East).

Barneveld (12-1, 5-0) took a 36-21 lead in the third quarter.

Brodhead 66, Parkview 15

ORFORDVILLE - The Cardinals opened a 38-7 halftime lead and cruised to a Rock Valley South Conference win.

Sophomores Carly Mohns and Jordan Halvorson each scored 16 points for Brodhead (11-2, 7-1 Rock Valley South), which held the Vikings to just four field goals in the game.

Marshall 44, New Glarus 43

MARSHALL- The Knights (6-6, 2-1 Capitol) trailed 37-30 to start the fourth quarter but rallied behind senior Alycia Atwell and junior Anya Schween.

Marshall's Melanie Grady made three free throws late in the fourth quarter to give the Cardinals a 44-40 cushion before Schween hit a 3-pointer in the closing seconds. Atwell led the Knights with 11 points and Schween added 10.
