Erickson Deerfield Classic MVP

TURNER — Brodhead-Juda junior Stella Arn broke the school’s 100-meter dash record, helping her team to a first-place finish in the Beloit Daily News Invitational on May 3. The Lady Cardinals scored 161.50 points, beating second-place Turner by 48.50 points.

Arn ran the 100-meter dash in 12.35 seconds, breaking the 28-year school record previously set by Krista Pinnow. Arn also won the 200-meter dash and was a member of the winning 4x100 relay, earning the Invite’s Track MVP.

Teammate Addison Yates earned the Field MVP, winning the high jump and long jump.

Brodhead-Juda boys finished fourth of 11 teams with 76.5 points. 

Monticello also attended with four points from the boys team and 14 from the girls. Natalie Wahl was the top female performer, finishing third in the discus (101-07). Alex Roe was the top male performer, finishing fifth in the long jump (18-06.5).

DEERFIELD CLASSIC

DEERFIELD — Sugar River senior Jack Erickson scored 30 of his team’s 87 points, leading the Raiders to a first-place finish in the Deerfield Classic on May 3. Erickson won the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 300-meter hurdles to earn the Male Track MVP of the meet. Sugar River girls took ninth of 20 teams with 35 points.

Darlington, Argyle-Pecatonica and Albany were also in attendance. Darlington girls finished fourth (55 points) of 20 teams, Argyle-Pecatonica 14th (24 points) and Albany 17th (9 points). Albany boys finished ninth (38 points) of 20 teams, Darlington 15th (10 points) and Argyle-Pecatonica did not record a point.

EDGERTON TIDER INVITATIONAL

EDGERTON — Monroe senior Aleigh Zettle won three events, leading the Lady Cheesemakers to a second-place finish in the Tider Invitational on May 3. Monroe scored 106 points, just 14.50 behind winners Lodi. 

Zettle won the 200-meter dash (26.61), pole vault (10-00) and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay (4:19.42) with Maryella Green, Mya Wild and Aniyah Jackson-Bey.

Monroe boys finished sixth of eight teams with 76 points. Tre Dammen was the top performer, finishing second in the 3,200-meter run (10:03.01) and running a leg of the second-place 4x800 relay (8:30.41). Teammates were Lukas Gerber, Kamrin Gerber-Reamer and Caden Oudinot.
