EDGERTON — Monroe went 1-1 in the Edgerton Triangular on May 4.

The Cheesemakers opened with a 5-2 win over Delavan-Darien, an improvement from their 4-3 win during conference play just a week prior.

Monroe head coach Matt Bordner changed his lineup, putting doubles partners Carsen Bartholf and Brandon Bassett at singles. The pair won 7-5, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.

“I think Carsen and Brandon are settling into singles and Hamilton and Alex continue to get more confident with doubles,” Bordner said. “We had a chance to go 7-0, as we lost two super tiebreakers, so I was excited to see that our new lineup seemed to pay dividends in this round.”

Edgerton then handed Monroe a 5-2 loss. The Cheesemakers got wins from No. 1 singles Mathew Setterstrom and No. 1 doubles Ryan Mathiason and Wes Saunders.
