OREGON — On March 18, Rep. Jenna Jacobson (D-Oregon) announced her candidacy to represent Wisconsin’s new 50th Assembly District.
“This is a pivotal election year for Wisconsin. For the first time in more than a decade, Wisconsinites will have elections using fair maps,” Jacobson said. “During my first term in the Assembly, I represented parts of Green, Dane and Rock Counties. I got to know people across the district and learned what they want and need from their state government.”
With the recent new district maps approved, Green County is now united under one representative in the new maps.
“Under the new legislative maps, Wisconsin voters will finally choose their representatives instead of their representatives choosing them,” Jacobson said. “This means representatives are more likely to focus on meeting the very real needs of Wisconsinites. I am looking forward to meeting voters in the new 50th Assembly District and hearing about your priorities and dreams for yourself, your families, and the future of Wisconsin.”
In her first term, she said she focused on supporting public education and her local communities.
“I also prioritized working with my colleagues from around the state and across the aisle,” Jacobson said. “I co-authored bills that would increase funding to our schools, support our rural communities, incentivize new farmers, and fund childcare.”
