MADISON — Rebecca Gustafson, who was inducted into Edgewood College’s Hall of Fame during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, celebrated her induction on Saturday, March 4 at the campus.

Gustafson was inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame class with Ilvana Bar-av (Women’s Soccer), Mallory Palmer (Women’s Volleyball), Elaine Seiple (Women’s Soccer) and Andrew Handorf (Baseball).

“I am so thankful for all of my coaches and teammates throughout the years,” Gustafson said. “The friends I’ve made playing, coaching and being a volleyball mom are so dear to me.”

From the Edgewood website: Gustafson left Edgewood College in 1996 as the program’s all-time leader in kills with 1,293, a number that still ranks third today. Her .265 attack percentage is the fourth-best mark in school history and her 3.00 kills per set ranks fifth for the Eagles. She was a two-time First Team All-Lake Michigan Conference selection and helped lead Edgewood College to a Lake Michigan Conference title during her senior season in 1996. Gustafson also ranks sixth in program history with 134 aces, and seventh with 294 blocks.

As the head coach for Monticello volleyball, Gustafson has compiled a 89-22-1 record with back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2021-22, including a silver ball in 2022. In that two-year span, she was named Six Rivers East Coach of the Year both times.
