Gary Petit: MHS grad named All-NAC
KOHLER - Monroe High School graduate Gary Petit led the Lakeland College men's golf team to a seventh place finish at the Northern Athletics Conference Championship on Oct. 13-14 at the Irish Course of Whistling Straits in Kohler.

Petit, a freshman, led all Lakeland scorers with a 17-over-par 181 (81-80) on the par-72, 6,750-yard course. Petit's score was good for 14th place overall, and he was named to the All-NAC team following the tournament.

"The way Gary handled himself was impressive," Lakeland coach Tyler Bormann said. "He struggled at times, but got control of his golf game when he needed to. He had a solid year and was by far our most consistent player. He should be proud of getting all-conference honors."

The Lakeland Muskies finished with a 677 for the two-day tournament, finishing 60 strokes behind the Milwaukee School of Engineering, the tournament's champion.
