Warriors, Ponies slam home victories

SOUTH WAYNE — Black Hawk opened its season with a clean sweep of Juda Sept. 19. The Warriors allowed just 27 total points in a 25-6, 25-15, 25-6 thrashing of the Panthers.

Bailey Butler led all hitters with 10 kills for Black Hawk, while teammate Makayla Mau had six kills. Mau added four blocks, while Kaylee Marty had four aces and two digs. Tara Wellnitz and Raylin Peterson led the Warriors with a block each, and Macie Stauffacher had 16 assists.

Jocelyn Rufer led Juda with three kills and an ace. Libby Jordan added an ace and a block, and Ciarrah Davis dug bout 33 balls.

Monticello 3, Argyle 0

ARGYLE — The Ponies moved to 2-0 on the season with a 25-20, 25-13, 25-15 win over the Orioles Sept. 17.

Ellie Gustafson had 13 kills and 10 digs for Monticello, while teammate Hannah Clark added eight kills. The Ponies had 30 assists split between Alexa Siegenthaler (16) and Delenn Gillaspie (14).

Maggie Godfrey led Argyle with eight kills, three aces, 14 digs and a block. Grace Ganshert added five kills and Jenna Allison dished out 14 assists.

In other volleyball action, Barneveld defeated Albany in four sets.
