MONROE — Patrick Alt’s goal two minutes into the third period was difference, as Monroe edged Reedsburg 2-1 on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Prior to the third period, the Beavers and Cheesemakers were locked in a 1-1 tie with goals from Reedsburg’s Andrey Tougas and Monroe’s Benjamin Erdley. 

Offensively, Monroe outshot Reedsburg 48-19. Six different players tallied points — Alt (G), Erdley (G), Carson Kurschner (A), Carter Nemergut (A), Gavin Roth (A) and Ethan Rosenstiel (A). In net, Kyle Theorin tallied 18 saves and a .947 save percentage for the win.

MIDDLETON 4, BELOIT 1 

BELOIT — Nathan Fiebig’s goal in the first period was not enough in a Big Eight Conference game on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

With the win, Middleton took a half game lead on Verona in the conference standings.

Wyatt Ehrnhardt led the Cardinals with four points from two goals and two assists. 

Fiebig and Logan Tysse recorded the only points for Beloit. Gentry Grant suffered the loss in net, giving up four goals on 27 shots for an .852 save percentage.

JANESVILLE — Charlotte Fetherson’s goal was the only of the game, as Rock County was shut out for just the third time this season.

Jillian Traver suffered the loss, giving up one goal on 39 shots for a .975 save percentage.
