Cards drop 5-set heartbreaker

EVANSVILLE — After jumping out to a two-set lead, Brodhead dropped the next three games to suffer a conference loss to Evansville 21-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-9.

Allie Dahl and Brynn Riesterer had 12 kills each to lead the offense. Gretchen Kammerer tallied 29 of the team’s 36 assists. She also served up five aces. Four different Cardinals had double-digit digs — Dahl (26), Kammerer (11), Leah Rear (15) and Makenna Schooff. 

PECATONICA 3, 

BLACK HAWK 0

SOUTH WAYNE — The Vikings worked around a lineup change to sweep the Warriors 25-10, 25-20, 25-20. Middle hitter Madelyn Cleary did not play. 

Loretta Tisch led the team in both aces (3) and kills (15). Tatum Kurschner tallied 30 assists.

For Black Hawk, Mya Milz had three kills with all assists from Keira Brunner. Hailey Wellnitz tallied four aces.


MONTICELLO 3, JUDA 0

JUDA — The Ponies swept the Panthers 25-11, 25-11, 25-12. Sadie Wilkins, Dalana Trumpy and Kennadee Johnson led the attack. Braelynn Holz wracked up five aces.


BARNEVELD 3, ALBANY 0

BARNEVELD — The Comets scored just 29 points in a three-set loss to the Eagles, who have received honorable mention bids in the Division 5 WisSports.net Coaches Poll. Ellie Modaff and Lexi Eastwood led the offense with three kills each. Modaff also had a team-high five assists. Kierra Cleasby had eight digs.
