WHITEWATER — With six players in double figures, Brodhead defeated Whitewater 101-72 in a Rock Valley Conference game on Monday, Jan. 8. Last year, the Cardinals also scored 100 points against the Whippets in a 103-49 affair.

Cullen Walker led the offense with 23 points, including three 3s. Jaxon Dooley scored 16 points with a team-best 8 assists. Sam Searls chipped in 14 points, going 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and 5-for-5 from the line. Gabe Bockhop tallied 12 points, while Brody Riese and Nathan Engen recorded 11 each. Engen was one rebound away from a double-double.

Whitewater had three players in double figures, led by Casey Lyon with 17 points.

DARLINGTON 78, RIVER VALLEY 31

SPRING GREEN — The Redbirds, ranked No. 4 in Division 4, forced 13 turnovers and tallied 12 steals in a nonconference win on Monday, Jan. 8. The defensive effort led to a 45-18 Darlington lead at halftime, which ballooned to a 78-31 final.

Will Murray led the offense with 18 points. Zeke Zuberbuhler tallied 15 points with a pair of 3s, while Broker Buschor recorded 12 points. On the glass, Carter Murray grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds followed by Buschor with eight. Brady Long racked up four steals.

In other local boys basketball action, Argyle fell to Potosi 79-63. The Chieftains are currently ranked No. 4 in Division 5.
