LANCASTER — Argyle-Pecatonica ended its regular season with a 60-43 win over Division 4 Lancaster on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The Orioles (21-1, 8-0 Six Rivers East) stole the ball 14 times against the Flying Arrows (8-14, 3-6 SWC). 

Kylie Butler led with 26 points, going 4-for-7 from beyond the arc with a team-best four assists. Brooke Wellnitz chipped in 12 points, and Anna Tisch grabbed eight rebounds. 

In the latest WisSports poll, published Feb. 13, Argyle-Pecatonica moved into the No. 1 spot in Division 5. The Orioles have not lost a game since their season opener on Nov. 14. Assumption (21-2, 15-0 Marawood-South) previously owned the top spot, but lost its last two games to Aquinas (20-3, 11-0 Mississippi Valley), ranked No. 7 in Division 3, and Pacelli (22-1, 11-0 Central Wisconsin-South), ranked No. 3 in Division 5. 

BLACK HAWK 69, BENTON 58

SOUTH WAYNE — Two Warriors recorded season highs in a conference crossover game on Monday, Feb. 12.

Kendra Haldiman led Black Hawk (11-12, 3-5 Six Rivers East) with a season-high 21 points, going 3-for-7 from 3-point range. Maddy Place also scored a season-high 20 points with a pair of threes. Maddy Lange was the third Warrior in double figures with 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for a double-double. 

Benton (5-17, 2-7 Six Rivers West) remained competitive thanks to its 3-point shooting. The Zephyrs were 10-for-18 beyond the arc for 30 points.

DARLINGTON 50, RIVER RIDGE 49

PATCH GROVE — Sadie Goebel hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 39 seconds left and the Redbird defense held strong to pick up a nonconference win on Monday, Feb. 12. Darlington (16-7, 9-4 SWAL) had to overcome a 10-point deficit at halftime.

Aubrey McCarthy led the team with 15 points and eight rebounds. Maddie Gratz scored 11 points with six rebounds. All nine of Goebel’s points came from beyond the arc. 

In other local girls basketball action, New Glarus defeated Mount Horeb 63-42. The Glarner Knights, ranked No. 8 in Division 4, now have three straight 20-win seasons.

Monroe fell to Delavan-Darien 60-20, and Juda lost a narrow 39-33 contest to Williams Bay.
