Alt throws two-hit shutout

NEW GLARUS — With a 12-strikeout two-hit performance from Patrick Alt on the mound, New Glarus cruised to a 5-0 shutout victory over Wisconsin Heights on Thursday, April 13. Easton Dreyfus was the leading force of the offense, going 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBIs. 

The next day, Friday, April 14, the Knights suffered a 7-1 loss to Edgewood. Ashlin Mihlbauer and Dreyfus recorded the only two hits, while Leyton Mihlbauer suffered the loss on the mound. He gave up two unearned runs on six hits, striking out seven batters.

BELMONT — The Vikings improved to 7-0 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Belmont on Friday, April 14. Tyler McKeon went a combined 5-for-8 at the plate, with a double, triple, two homeruns and three RBIs. He got the win in game two, scattering three hits over three innings. 


RIVER RIDGE 7, MONTICELLO-ALBANY 1

PATCH GROVE — The Ponies left five batters on base during its loss on Friday, April 14. Carson Gafner recorded the lone hit, while four others reached by walk. Cody Pryce took the loss, giving up one earned run on five hits. He struck out seven.


DARLINGTON 4, IOWA-GRANT 2

LIVINGSTON — The Redbirds overcame three errors, outhitting the Panthers 9-3 in a SWAL victory on Friday, April 14. Breylin Goebel went 3-for-4 at the plate and pitched one inning for the save. Starting pitcher Gage Banfield, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI, collected the win. He gave up just two hits in six innings and struck out nine batters.

 

POTOSI-CASSVILLE 10, BLACK HAWK 0

POTOSI — Brett Haldiman was the lone Warrior to reach base in Black Hawk’s five inning, 10-run rule loss on Friday, April 14. Dylan Haldiman suffered the loss, giving up nine runs in 2 2/3 innings pitched. The Warrior defense committed six errors.
