New Glarus 49,

Lodi 40

NEW GLARUS - In a battle between cross-conference foes, New Glarus pulled away with a solid win over Lodi.

Securing their first win of the season, the Glarner Knights relied on early defensive pressure and consistent trips to the charity stripe to put together a 49-40 victory.

"We really tried to put the pressure on them in the first half," New Glarus coach Megan Scheele said. "We missed a couple of easy shots, but we were able to draw some fouls and get to the free throw line."

The Glarner Knights put together a solid all-around effort and ended up putting the game away late with a 15-point fourth quarter outing.

Senior Sierra Watrud scored 13 points and Breanne Kreklow contributed 10 points for the Knights.
