Steven H. Truttmann, age 82 of Monticello passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at his home. He was the son of Forresth Edseth and Adeline Zumkehr on October 17, 1943 in Madison, WI. On March 4, 1966 Steven married Marylin Cook.

Steven worked for the Green County Highway Department and was a mechanic specializing in tractors. He proudly served as a volunteer firefighter with the Monticello Fire Department for many years. Steven enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing stories, and telling jokes that brought smiles to those around him.

Steve is survived by his children, Todd (Laurel) Truttmann of Woodstock, IL, Kelly Jo Taraldsen of Beloit, and Tracy Kjell of Florida; granddaughter, Kelsey (Fred) Stewart of Beloit; and siblings, Roger Truttmann, Peggy Kalscher, and Susan Edseth

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Merri Sarbacker and Marilyn Jegerlehner; and brother, Dennis Truttmann.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home with Pastor Mary Gafner officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Monticello.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in Steven’s name to the Monticello Volunteer Fire Department
