Opal R. Huber, age 80 formally of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at the Pleasant Prairie Hospice House in Kenosha.  She was born on November 10, 1943 the daughter of Leo and Thelma (Albright) Eells.  She graduated from Blackhawk High School, after graduation she went onto MATC to earn her associates degree in dental hygiene.  Opal was united in marriage to Thomas Krueger on July 11, 1964.  She later married Norman Huber on January 13, 1979 at St. Victor’s Catholic Church. 

Opal was a dental hygienist for Dr. Ganshert and Brauchle for many years.  She was a member of St. Victor’s Catholic Church.  Opal enjoyed quilting, sewing, reading, walking, and antiquing. Above all else Opal loved being a grandma, spending time with her grandchildren brought her joy.  

Opal is survived by her children, Heidi Krueger, and Sara Freund both of Kenosha; step-daughters, Holly (Matthew) Douglas of Brodhead and Gayle (James) Buol of Monroe; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rose (Donald) Anderson of Monroe and Martha (Richard) Keegan of Albany.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Albert and Orville Eells; and son-in-law, Michael Freund.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at St. Clare of Assisi Parish at St. Victor Catholic Church with Father Joseph Bellamkonda as celebrant.  Burial will follow at Calvery Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall following the committal. 

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at: shriner111.com.
