Edith Ardelie (nee Smith) Milestone, age 89 of Monroe passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Monroe Health Services. She was born on December 20, 1930 to Vern and Erma Smith.

She is survived by her children, DiAnne (Ray) Genrich, Lynn (Jim) Langkamp, Jane (Tom) Kammerait, and Jim Milestone; grandchildren, Karis, Branden, Matthew, Caitlin, Will, Grant, Jamie, William, and Leah; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Grace, and Logan; her sisters, Virginia Ryser, Evelyn Tschanz, Maralyn Martin and Beverly Vandlen.

Edith loved music and her family. She sang in the choir, wrote music and played music anytime she had a piano. She loved to entertain and would play for the patrons at the nursing homes in the area. She was the eternal student and graduated from Monroe Teacher’s College, was a Dale Carnegie instructor, and the owner of multiple restaurants in the Monroe area. She loved gardening and collecting things. She lived in the Monroe area all her life.

Memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home 1455 Mansion Dr. ad 18th Avenue in Monroe.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
