Curtis G. Elmer, age 91, of Monroe, died on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Monroe Health Services. Curt was born on November 29, 1933 in Monroe, the son of Henry and Ethel (Green) Elmer. After graduating from Monroe High School in 1952, Curt was stationed in Germany for 24 months while serving three years in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Nancy Lovelace on April 4, 1959 at St. John’s United Church of Christ. Curt was employed for 35 years at Dorman Cheese and as a custodian at Abraham Lincoln Elementary for 11 years until retiring. He was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and always enjoyed the many fishing trips to Canada and Alaska with his brothers.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Elmer of Monroe; son, Richard Elmer (Michelle Wichser) of Monroe; daughters, Wendy Christiana of Concord, N.C., Carol (Dave) Elmer Evert of Mazomanie, WI, Lisa (Dr. Mon Lun) Yee of Fitchburg; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and sister-in-law, Shirley Elmer. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan, in 1967; and siblings, Lee, Ralph, Morris, Rodney, Clarence, Virgil and Loren Elmer, Dorothy Camron.
