MONROE — A Monroe bicyclist sustained injuries that were not life threatening Monday night after a driver collided with him on a sidewalk, according to the Monroe Police Department.

The accident was reported at about 8 p.m. in the 1000 block of 8th Street.

Philip Bottigliero, 41, was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk when Jamie A. Carey, 54, Tampa, Florida, collided with him as she turned her vehicle into a private drive off the street.

Bottigliero was transported by Green County EMS for his injuries. Carey was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way to a bicyclist.
