Rose R. Schuetz, age 94, of Freeport, Illinois, died on Monday, February 4, 2008 at FHN (Freeport Memorial Hospital). She was born on February 19, 1913 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Green County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jacob and Marie (Blaser) Waeffler. Rose and Carl Schuetz were married on March 23, 1934 in Freeport, Illinois. Rose and her husband farmed in the Monroe and Brodhead areas the greater part of their lives.
Surviving are her sons, Karl (Beverly) Schuetz of Stoughton, Leon (Beverly) Schuetz of Rockton, Illinois, Eugene (Charlotte) Schuetz of Ligonier, Indiana, Dan Schuetz of Freeport, Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; husband, grandson, Jeff Wipperfurth; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Petry; brothers, Charles, Jack, Fred; sisters, Anna Isley, Martha Barton, Hilda Portman, Hulda Trickel and Frieda Waeffler.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe. Officiating will be the Rev. David Busker of Monroe United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Monroe. A visitation will be held on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at the funeral home. A memorial fund is being established in Rose's memory.
