Monroe Police MONROE - A vehicle going the wrong way on a one-way street on the downtown Square midday Thursday caused a traffic jam and led to traffic citations for the driver and a drug search of the vehicle. Steven Ray Thompson, 25, Evansville, was cited for failure to obey a traffic sign and for driving with a suspended license after officers stopped his vehicle at 11:13 a.m. in the 1000 block of 17th Avenue. During the stop, an officer detected suspicious circumstances and called in a police K-9 to check the vehicle.
