Norma Irene Trumpy
Norma Irene Trumpy, age 76 of Monroe, formerly of Juda, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Angelus Retirement Community following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on December 27, 1931 in Monticello, the daughter of the late Wilbert and Katherine (Buol) Christen. Norma graduated from Monticello High School in 1949.

In 1950, she married Leland Rackow of Winslow, IL. They had three children, Nancy (Gregory) Wisniewski of Verona, Ruth (Randy) Myatt and Larry Rackow, both of Janesville. In 1976, Norma married LeRoy Trumpy of Orangeville, IL. Norma had four step-children, Gordon (Donna) Trumpy of Brodhead, Marjorie Trumpy of Orangeville, IL, Gregory Trumpy of Juda, and Gene (Katie) Trumpy of Orangeville, IL. She is further survived by her two grandsons, Christopher and Matthew Wisniewski; nine step-grandchildren, Scott Trumpy of Chicago, IL, Jamie and Haley Trumpy of Brodhead, Jessica, Shae, Julia, Rachel, Geremy and Kyle Trumpy, all of Orangeville, IL; and one step-great-granddaughter, Lilyana Trumpy. She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Trumpy; her brother, Wilbert Christen Jr.; and a stepson, Gerald Trumpy.

Norma was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Juda and the Women of the Moose #599. She farmed her entire life in Green, Stephenson, and Jefferson Counties. Norma enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dancing, crocheting, traveling, and bowling.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at the NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, Monroe. Reverend Thomas Miller of the Zion United Methodist Church, Juda, will officiate. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Monticello, with a luncheon to follow at the Monroe Moose Lodge, 639 3rd Avenue. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Norma's name.

The family would like to thank Liz Wilson, Director, and the entire staff of Angelus Retirement Community, together with the Monroe Clinic Hospice Staff for the loving care they gave Norma.

Finally, our deepest appreciation and gratitude to a very special lady and dear friend, Joyce Mau, for all that she did for Mom.
