Joy Lee (Marty) Walker, 59, of Lake St. Louis, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
A visitation will be from 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Arnold Funeral Home in Mexico. Entombment Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the East Lawn Memorial Park Columbarium in Mexico.
Joy was born Oct. 24, 1957 in Mexico, the daughter of Robert H. and Shirley Ann (Payton) Marty. On May 28, 1977 in Liberty, MO, she married David Mark Walker.
Mrs. Walker was a 1975 graduate of Mexico High School. She then obtained her B.S. in Nursing from Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City. Joy was a Registered Nurse and had done some Legal Nurse Consulting.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, reading and crafting. She loved the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Joy loved her dogs and especially loved her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Nana Joy".
Survivors include her husband, Mark Walker of the home; two sons, Michael Walker of Lees Summit and Ryan Walker of Carlisle, PA; one daughter, Elizabeth (Brad) Atkinson of Boonville; four grandchildren, Bailey, Braxton, Bella, and Bennett Atkinson; her parents, Rev. Robert H. and Shirley Marty of Mexico; one brother, Andrew H. (Rachel) Marty of Dardenne Prairie; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joy was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Joan Walker; and her grandparents, Dewey and Frances Payton, and Robert F. and Helen Marty.
Memorial donations may be made to the Saints Peter and Paul School in Boonville or the Midway Christian Church in Mexico. Both may be sent in care of Arnold Funeral Home, 425 S. Jefferson, Mexico, MO 65265.
