George A. Raymer, age 64, of Freeport, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his home.

George was born May 30, 1947 in Monroe, the son of Lawrence and Inez (Pfund) Raymer.

He graduated from Monroe High School in 1965 and earned a degree in Conservation from U.W. Steven's Point. George served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 until 1972.

He was a member of the Green County Rifle Club and Willow Aces Deer Camp in Tomahawk, WI.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Yuen Raymer of Freeport; a daughter, Michelle (Rocky) Joy of Sterling, CO; a step-daughter, Linda (Greg) Howard of Atlanta, GA; twin grandsons, Andrew and Jacob Joy; step-granddaughter, Madison Howard; and his sister, Virginia (Verne) Nortman of Monroe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Mei Wen Raymer.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe. Private family burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe, followed by a luncheon at the Monroe V.F.W. Post #2312.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund will be established in George's name for St. John's United Church of Christ or Monroe Clinic Hospice. To send an expression of sympathy go to www.newcomerfuneralhome.net.
