LENA - Gary L. Hawkinson, age 66, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008 at his home in Lena. He was born on September 2, 1941 in Gratiot, WI, to Russell and Alice (Zuberbuhler) Hawkinson. He graduated from Gratiot High School in 1960 and Madison Business College in 1962. He married Patsy M. Mahlkuch on June 3, 1964 at the South Wayne United Methodist Church. He was employed by the State Bank of Mt. Horeb in Wisconsin. He worked for Kelly Springfield Tire Company and most recently Citizens State Bank of Lena where he also served on the Board of Directors. He served as Town Clerk for West Point Township from 1972-1986. He was a member of Grace Free Methodist Church of McConnell, IL. He enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packer fan.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy; two daughters, Carrie (Joe) Pickett of Troy, IL and Sheila (Steve) Loewe of Ridott, IL; two granddaughters, Stephanie Ptacek and Samantha Loewe; one great-granddaughter, LayCee Bramlett; one sister, Sandra (Ralph) Mau of Cuba City, WI; four brothers, Allen (Peggy) Hawkinson of Lena, IL, Gene (Judy) Hawkinson of Belmont, WI, Don (Diane) Hawkinson of Gratiot, WI and Van (Mary) Hawkinson of Cameron, WI; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Grace Free Methodist Church in McConnell.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.

Officiating will be Pastor David Mann.

Internment will be held at Lena Burial Park.

A memorial has been established for the Monroe Clinic Hospice and the McConnell Grace Free Methodist Church.
