SOUTH WAYNE - Eleanor M. Schultz, 96, passed away on Sunday, June 16, at the New Glarus Nursing Home. She was born on October 15, 1916 in Lafayette County, WI to Ashel and Clara (Johnson) Jorgenson. After graduating from Argyle High School, she attended the Green County Normal College and became a teacher. Eleanor taught school before she married Mervin Schultz on June 27, 1942 and became a homemaker and farm wife. Together they farmed on the 3rd generation family farm until 1968 when they retired from farming.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren, St. Paul's Ladies Aid Society, the Zion County Club, and the quilters circle. Eleanor enjoyed working with ceramics, quilting, bowling, square dancing, going on bus tours across the country.

Eleanor is survived by 6 children: Gaylord Schultz of South Wayne, Louis (Carol) Schultz of South Wayne, Eileen (Roger W.) Kubly of Monroe, Gene (Neva) Schultz of Monroe, Keith (Julia) Schultz of Cape Coral, FL, Linda Obert of Carroll, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law; Marie Jorgenson of South Wayne, WI, Inga Jorgenson of Madison, WI, Marion Jorgenson of Darlington, WI, Nelda Schultz of Stockton, IL., Ila Mae (Jack) Sorensen of McFarland, WI.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Joyce; granddaughter Darci Schultz and infant granddaughter; brothers Clarion (Celia), Art (Hazel), Vinal, Merlin, Martell (Lucille), Hubert, Mynard (Ruth) Jorgenson. Brothers-in-law; Art (Lucille) and Cecil Schultz.

Services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 22, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Warren.

Officiating will be Vicar Erik Rundquist and Fr. Michael Richel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church from 4:00-8:00.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in her name.
