Earl Eugene "Sid" Eddy, age 89, a lifelong resident of Genoa City, WI, died Friday morning August 19, 2016 at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home-Gates Hall in the Town of Dover, WI.

Sid was born on October 18, 1926 in Genoa City, WI the son of the late George Henry and Georgia Ellen Hoskins Eddy. On October 29, 1948 in Genoa City, WI, Sid was united in marriage to Christine May Goad. She preceded in death on September 30, 1958. On March 30, 1961, in McHenry, IL, Sid was united in marriage to Charlene Weckerly Goodman.

Sid served in the U.S. Army as a Tec5 from May 5, 1945 until discharge on August 11, 1946. He served overseas and earned the Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 1 overseas bar and the Army of Occupation Medal-Germany.

Sid formerly worked for Producers and Consumers in Genoa City, Arnold May Construction in Richmond, IL, was a janitor for Brookwood School in Genoa City and retired in 1988 from the Lake Geneva Union as a carpenter. He was a member of the Sponholtz-Deignan American Legion Post #183 in Genoa City for 70 years. He was active in Our Place Seniors in Genoa City.

Sid is survived by: His wife-Charlene; 1 son Scott (Ellen) Eddy of Woodbury, MN; 2 stepsons-Gordon Goodman of Henderson, NC and Matt (Debra) Goodman of Checota, OK; 2 grandchildren-Steven (Jennifer) Goodman and Jayson (Heather) Goodman; 4 great grandchildren-Jake, Eric, Nathanial and Jessica.

Sid was preceded in death by 3 sisters-Lucille Carroll, Beverly McLaughlin and Doris Rockenbach and 1 brother Duane Eddy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday August 23, 2016 at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Genoa City with Pastor Jennie Swanson officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery. The Eddy Family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday at the Haase-Lockwood & Assoc. Funeral Home in Genoa City.
