GREEN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT

MONROE - The court Oct. 14 sentenced Matthew D. Schupbach, 24, Brodhead, to 30 days in jail and 18 months probation after he pleaded guilty to battery and obstructing an officer.

He faced up to 18 months in jail and up to $20,000 in fines as part of the plea agreement for the class A misdemeanors.

The court dismissed one count of criminal damage to property, a class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. He originally faced up to 30 months in jail and up to $31,000 in fines.

Court records indicate he hit a man in the face inside and outside a Monroe residence Aug. 11 in Monroe. He later ran from police when they responded to the scene.
