There are four candidates for three seats on the Monticello village board. Incumbents Teresa Dunlap and William Loveland are being challenged by Rene Nicholson and Greg Bettin. Incumbent LaVerne Crooks is the only candidate for village president.

What are the top issues facing this district/municipality and how would you work to resolve them?

Infrastructure which involves the water mains and sanitary system, curb and gutter, sidewalks and the total replacement of a street. The waste water treatment plant is also a high priority to meet state and federal guidelines. Street projects are determined by the need of replacing and the village borrowing limits.



What are other key issues facing the district/municipality, and how would you work to resolve them?

Public Safety (Police Department) must also be kept up to date with training and equipment. As well as the public works department.



Why are you the best candidate for this office?

Experienced in road contraction. I have been involved in getting four major street projects done. Incumbent 2006.
