MONROE — Madison’s cover dance band VO5 is heading south to Main Street Monroe’s Concert on the Square at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 17.
VO5 is a nine-piece disco and funk big-band that performs hits by Abba, Bee Gees, Ohio Players, Jackson 5 and more along with several originals.
Main Street Monroe has more fun planned with the Handphibians shaking things up at intermission.
The “Phibs” are a community percussion ensemble from Madison dedicated to promoting the music and cultural traditions of Brazil. The John and Katie Baumann Inspiration Project provides funding to offset the costs of concert intermissions.
Sign up to win the “Best Seat in the House” contest with premium seating on custom Adirondack chairs, plus refreshments and swag. Register all summer at Heartland Graphics; winners are drawn prior to each show.
Other upcoming shows include The Mascot Theory Aug. 31 and a bonus show Sept. 13 sponsored in partnership with Green County Cheese Days as a community night kick-off to the festival weekend. Cookie and the Real Deal will funk it up on the main stage from 6 to 9 p.m.
A beer stand and food booths are set up at every show. Try pizza, brats, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, popcorn and cotton candy; or patronize a downtown restaurant. Bring your own lawn chairs. No alcohol carry-ins.
