UW-W’s Schwartzlow competes at a statewide competition

WHITEWATER — Ian Schwartzlow, a Finance major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater from Monticello, WI, is one of three students who competed in the 2026 Risk Management Association’s (RMA) College Case Competition, hosted in Madison on April 10.

Schwartzlow earned first place during the competition.

The 2026 RMA College Case Competition brought together students from nine universities across Wisconsin. Case competition participants analyze a real-world commercial lending case, developing recommendations on loan structuring, pricing, collateral, and credit risk, which they then present to industry professionals. The event also connected students with banking professionals who serve as mentors, judges, and sponsors, creating valuable networking and career opportunities.

UW-Whitewater’s Ian Schwartzlow & Ethan Petsch won first place at the event, taking home a $2,000 prize. Additionally, Kai Odegaard took second place.
