Arla Thompson, age 86, of Monroe, died on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at U.W. Hospital. Arla was born on February 11, 1940 in rural Dorchester, WI, the daughter of Edward and Sigrid Brecke. She was united in marriage to Dale Thompson on January 16, 1960.

Arla is survived by her husband, Dale, of Monroe; three children, Scott Thompson (Katie Kineally), Terri Meinerz (Tim), Thor Thompson (Konnie); eight grandchildren, Connor (Jen) Thompson, Rachele (Mitchell) Wilkinson, Joe (Carolyn) Meinerz, Logan Meinerz, Martin (Angie) Meinerz, Ben Thompson, Kaitlyn Ganz, Reina Ganz; 14 great grandchildren, Brady Conklin, Elise Meinerz, River Meinerz, Foster Meinerz, Ori Meinerz, Leo Meinerz, Jolene Wilkinson, Briar Wilkinson, Ben Singler, Adam Singler, Carlyn Ganz, Violit Rodriguez, Paislee Rodriguez, and Isaac Ganz.

Private graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery, Monroe. There will be no visitation. The Newcomer Funeral Home, Monroe, is assisting the family. Condolences may be shared at www.newcomerfuneralhome.net
