Studio M Dance Academy competes at Starbound

Several awards have been given recently to the dancers at Studio M Academy in Monroe. They have been traveling to compete and have collected several accolades. MONROE — Studio M Dance Academy competed April 7-8 in Middleton at the Starbound Competition. 

The results are as follows:

•  The Duo “Good Is the New Bad” received Gold. Performed by Isla Jorenby and Emmilin Wiegel.

•  The Solo “Impossible” received Elite Gold, 1st in Category, 4th Overall Senior Solo and a Special Judges Award “Picture Perfect.” Performed by Kayla Ferguson

•  The Solo “Commander” received Elite Gold and 1st place Overall Senior Solo. Performed by Kayla Ferguson.

•  Large Group “What’s My Name” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Aubrey Davis, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Miley Hanson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Carrah Jenson, Isla Jorenby, Ava Scace, Mya Scace, Emmilin Wiegel and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  Large Group “Lean on Me” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Ava Scace and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  Large Group “F7” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Ava Scace and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  Large Group “Bad” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Ava Scace and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  All the dances qualified to go to Starbound Nationals in Chicago this summer.


Starbound Nationals, held from July 8 to July 12, results:

•  Large Group “What’s My Name” received Elite Gold, 1st Overall Junior Production and they made it into the Showcase.       Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Aubrey Davis, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Miley Hanson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Carrah Jenson, Isla Jorenby, Ava Scace, Mya Scace, Emmilin Wiegel and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  Large Group “Lean on Me” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Ava Scace and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  Large Group “Bad” received High Gold. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Ava Scace and Makenzie Wuebben.

•  The Duo “Good Is the New Bad” received High Gold, Audience Choice, and 3rd Overall. 

•  Junior Petite Duo/Trio performed by Isla Jorenby and Emmilin Wiegel.

•  The Solo “Impossible” received High Gold performed by Kayla Ferguson.

•  The Solo “Commander” received High Gold, Top in Category, 8th Place Overall Senior Solo performed by Kayla Ferguson.

•  Kayla Ferguson danced in the opening number of the Showcase, which she earned that spot at regionals along with a scholarship to take the New York Dance Experience Classes.

•  Large Group “What’s My Name” made it into the Showcase Grand Championship. It received the Audience Choice Award and 3rd Place Overall Production. Performed by Audrey Bartlett, Aubrey Davis, Lindsey Davis, Jadie Daughenbaugh, Macy Emberson, Julianna Erdley, Kayla Ferguson, Miley Hanson, Olivia Hendrickson, Callee Jenson, Carrah Jenson, Isla Jorenby, Ava Scace, Mya Scace, Emmilin Wiegel and Makenzie Wuebben.

The Showcase is a large event and teachers Miss Megan Jorenby and Miss Molly Campbell had Red Carpet interviews. The Studio M Dancers were also interviewed as they left the stage after their performance.
